When compared to other mushrooms like button, cremini, and portobello, Almond Agaricus stands out as it is simpler to cultivate and emits a delightful, earthy scent that evokes the essence of almonds. This variety thrives exceptionally well in compost! Noted for its swift colonization of substrates and enchanting almond aroma, Almond Agaricus makes an excellent choice for mycology enthusiasts. With proper care and warmer temperatures, it consistently yields an abundant harvest.

Colonization Speed:Almond Agaricus is known for its rapid colonization abilities. When cultivated in well-maintained beds under warmer conditions, it can produce fruit within just 1–3 months, with even quicker results achievable in top-fruiting containers. Provided that annual substrate addition and perennial conditions are maintained, these beds can yield indefinitely.

Ideal Growing Environment:Fruiting temperatures ranging from 70–90°F (21–32°). Almond Agaricus prefers complex, higher-nitrogen substrate like manure and compost to eliminate the need for pasteurization. Greenhouses or high tunnels provide optimal conditions for Almond Agaricus beds, facilitating extended growing seasons. While overwintering Almond Agaricus crops is difficult except within a greenhouse, thorough mulching in the fall could foster growth in the subsequent season. Suggested Usage:Almond Agaricus sawdust spawn is intended exclusively for outdoor cultivation or in top-fruiting containers.

Temperature Precaution:The mycelium of Almond Agaricus is quite vulnerable to low temperatures and may die if exposed to conditions below 35°F (1.7°C). It’s best to plant only after the average temperature has stabilized at 50°F (10°C) for optimal growth potential.

Important Note:This product does not function as a complete mushroom growing kit on its own. To trigger fruiting, Almond Agaricus sawdust spawn needs to be paired with a substrate such as straw (not hay), hardwood chips, or sawdust.
