Characterized by clusters of dimpled caps that grow on sturdy, tender stems, these mushrooms begin their journey as a rich steel-gray color before maturing to a soft light gray hue. Colonization Speed:Among the various plug spawn strains we provide, oyster mushrooms stand out for their rapid colonization rate, typically completing this process within 6 to 12 months.

Ideal Cultivation Conditions: Fruiting temperatures ranging from 55–75°F (13–24°C). Ideal wood species include Aspen, Cottonwood, Tuliptree, and Willow. Notes:Plug spawn is most suitable for smaller-scale endeavors involving one to ten logs, though certain log growers might utilize them for larger projects as well. The wooden dowels used in our plug spawn have been kiln-dried and remain untreated aside from this process.
