In the Pacific Northwest and Northern regions of the United States, Hungarian Hot Wax peppers are a favorite among growers due to their ability to mature quickly in cooler, wetter conditions. Unfortunately, many commercial varieties have not been properly cared for; as a result, plants sourced from these strains often exhibit weak growth and inconsistent fruit characteristics in terms of size, shape, and heat intensity. In 2015, our breeding team initiated efforts to enhance this varietal through three selective breeding cycles. The newly refined strain showcases erect plants with consistent fruit development. This significantly improved plant structure enhances fruit protection and facilitates quicker and easier harvesting while minimizing damage! The fruits are smooth, tapered, moderately spicy, averaging 5 1/2" x 1 1/2", transitioning from pale yellow to orange red before achieving a rich red at full maturity. They are perfect for frying, roasting, or pickling purposes. USDA Certified Organic.
