Produces large, substantial, and compact heads averaging 11 to 12 inches in length. Visually striking with a deep red hue. IMPORTANT: This variety is more likely to experience internal tip burn (degradation of the inner leaves that remains unseen in uncut heads), particularly during warm weather compared to green types. It can also be somewhat vulnerable to bolting when faced with adverse conditions, like low nighttime temperatures (below 50°F) following transplantation.
